Learn about the logistics of year-round cultivation and the vital role local agricultural initiatives play in building a resilient community with the Good Table Foundation, a Castine-based nonprofit, on Tuesday, March 10, from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon in our Hutchins Education Center and virtually on Zoom.
This presentation will explore the critical intersection of agriculture and social responsibility. As food insecurity remains a challenge for many, the Good Table Foundation will share how their unique approach to farming supports Hancock County residents.
Good Table Foundation’s Soil-Less Green® sets itself apart from conventional local farms by utilizing a containerized farming system. This innovative approach enables the cultivation of fresh, nutritious produce throughout the year. This innovative method supports their primary mission: addressing hunger by providing fresh, healthy food to those who might otherwise be forced to sacrifice nutrition due to limited resources. The impact of this mission is substantial. In 2025 alone, Good Table Foundation donated over 8,000 pounds of fresh produce to the community.
This free presentation, cosponsored by the Castine Garden Club, will be held in our Hutchins Education Center located at 112 Perkins Street, Castine. No registration is needed to attend in person. To attend virtually, register for the Zoom link below.
