We’ve all been there: staring at a dusty box in the attic or basement filled with fading polaroids, brittle letters, and fragile scrapbooks, wondering how to save them before they’re gone forever. On Tuesday, March 31, at 6 pm, join us for an informational presentation: "Get Them Out of the Attic! Caring for Family Photos & Papers" offered in partnership with the Castine Historical Society.
Led by Jules Thomson, Collections Manager at the Castine Historical Society and a professionally trained archivist, this presentation will feature practical, professional-grade tips on how to properly store and preserve family mementos for long-term enjoyment. Attendees will learn why temperature, light, and storage materials matter, and how to create a sustainable archive for their own family’s history—or perhaps a collection they've inherited.
This free presentation will be offered in person and virtually. No registration is needed to attend in person. Those interested in attending virtually can register for the Zoom link with the button below.
This program is part of the Wilson Museum’s program series Connecting to Collections: Curiosity, Culture, Climate made possible through the generous support of Bangor Savings Bank.
