The Wilson Museum
Mission:Building on the legacy of its founding family, the Wilson Museum uses its diverse collections and resources to provide learning experiences to stimulate exploration of the history and cultures of the Penobscot Bay region and world.
Vision Statement: Building lifelong, multi-generational relationships by honoring the past, embracing the present, and shaping the future.
Prime sources of income: Gifts, memberships, income from endowment.
Needs: Volunteers, in-kind expertise/donations, and membership and gifts for the purpose of reaching out through our continuing and expanding summer programs, website, and research.
Master-Planning: Looking to the future, the Wilson Museum has undertaken a master-planning process that culminated in a long-range Master Facilities Plan to address interpretation, visitor experience and collections care.
Membership: The voting membership of the Wilson Museum consists of the Board of Trustees. The non-voting membership consists of General Members. These are one-year dues paying members, family members, student members and one-time dues paying life members.
