The Castine Scientific Society

Purpose: Own and maintain the Wilson Museum Complex to show the antiquity of man and his cultural stages from the earliest geologic times that furnish any evidence of his existence, down to our present times.

Annual Budget: $231,500. Approximately 80% of the budget is devoted to services and programs. There are two full-time and two part-time employees and approximately 20 volunteers.

Prime sources of income: Gifts, memberships, interest from endowment.

Needs: Volunteers, in-kind expertise/donations, and membership and gifts for the purpose of reaching out through our continuing and expanding summer programs, website, and research.
