The Little Drummer Boy of Castine

Postcard photo“A ra ta ta tat, ra ta ta tat,
It’s the drummer boy of Castine.
A ra ta ta tat, ra ta ta tat,
He is heard, but never seen.”

And therein lies the beauty of the legends. Was he a British boy or a young Rebel? Was it the War of 1812 or our Revolution? Did he die by design or chance? The choice is yours, but one fact is known for sure: he is Castine’s Little Drummer Boy and this will be so forever.

Come hear the Horns and Drum of Castine perform in his honor at twilight at Fort George August 30th.
